Have you ever heard of Calorie Shifting? If not then you’re missing out on the 2009 Diet of the Year. This popular and effective diet grew in popularity in 2008 and is only gaining power this year. Its easily the best diet out right now and I’m going to tell you why. For one it’s the only one that encourages eating to lose weight and it has no rebound effect when you stop it.
So what is Calorie Shifting?
Essentially calorie shifting involves something called metabolic confusion. In the same way a bodybuilder might do something called muscle confusion to maximize their muscle growth, a dieter who can effectively cause metabolic confusion will end up with increased weight loss and fat burning. This diet involves eating different types of calories from day to day and not allowing your body to find a comfort zone where it will be able to drop your metabolism. So you can effectively keep your body burning fat 24/7 and best of all it doesn’t require starving your body to do so, but eating.
Is it hard to do?
Not at all, its actually one of the easier diets. For those who don’t want to think at all there are even software programs that will tell you from a day to day basis exactly what you should be eating to maximize the effects of the diet. So you can essentially print off your menu from day to day and never even question what it is you are supposed to be eating.

The New Year’s resolution for many of us is to lose the weight we piled on after enjoying the festivities over the holiday break. We know we have eaten too much, that’s when the guilt complex sets in, and we just have to get rid of that tummy fat which seems to have suddenly appeared. Then we start a long and usually expensive search for a quick and easy fix, which will probably be abandoned as soon as it is started once the commitment turns into hard work.
Going on a diet conjures up all sorts of scenarios and misgivings for lots of us; how does one achieve the discipline to stay on a diet, who wants to starve? Most of us try a mode of exercises, destined to fail as the expense and time robs us of our leisure time.
This is where you need to look at the big picture and find something that will work long term. A plan that allows you to keep off the tummy fat and at the same time lets you eat to your heart’s content. Now wouldn’t that be something! It would certainly make the job easier.
There is confusion these days about what a healthy diet that promotes fat loss really is…after all, we are bombarded with conflicting messages in the media about what is healthy and what is not. In addition you have all of these gimmicky diet books about low carb, low fat, high protein, vegetarian, fasting, liquid diets, and hundreds more. There’s so much conflicting information that the average consumer doesn’t even know where to start when it comes to eating for fat loss.
So what exercises should you concentrate on for losing tummy fat? The truth is that in order to burn off a lot of belly fat it is better to invest your time in intensive, full body workouts instead of wasting hours doing endless crunches and sit-ups, which are constantly promoted by the number of gimmick machines available almost anywhere. The rate of belly fat loss will be much higher and, since the stomach acts as a supporting muscle for the many exercises of other muscle groups, your abs actually develop when you’re working your full body.
By following certain dietary guidelines, fitness routines and exercises, many people have found the answer to their health issues In fact, you can even save a lot of money because you don’t need to get caught up in the marketing nonsense, which is common in the fitness market, which promotes such things as bogus pills, useless abs machines, and more. Buying a lot of useless stuff will be a thing of the past. However, you must be prepared to alter your eating habits, do intensive workouts, and actively strive to improve your physical condition and then you will be able to show off your fantastic lean stomach.

Those who are looking forward to boost up their metabolism process can resort to calorie shifting for effective results. When an individual sticks to a same diet chart for months, your system gets used to with the daily calorie count and shows no results in terms of weight loss.
Often people fail to lose weight even through they consume the most nutritional food stuffs regularly. In calorie shifting, you are suggested to adjust the calorie counts of different meals so that body never gets familiarized with the food consumption pattern.
Calorie requirement is different for all individuals and they can be tracked regularly. You can utilize free internet resources and calculators like TheCalorieCounter.com or CalorieKing.com to count the calories. Keeping record of the intake will help in controlling food consumption of an individual.
If you are determined to lose weight noticeably this time, adhere to the calorie shifting diet for at least three months or so. But the calorie values are to be adjusted or changed after every two days’ interval for best result. Keeping the records heals a great deal in this process.
Eating nutritious foods is suggested while shifting calories. When you intend to consume 500 added calories on a particular day, consume green vegetables, fresh fruits or salmon fish as they contain plenty of vitamins, minerals and proteins.
As the calorie shift plans boost the metabolic rates significantly, you can expect much better results than any given weight loss process like crash dieting or exercising from this.

There’s no question that meal replacement diets are very popular today. Dieters just no longer have time to research and prepare separate foods, nor do many of us want to be burdened with counting calories or points. Meal replacement plans (which are often prepackaged and ready to eat) take most of the work out of the equation and allow us to focus on other things like exercise and lifestyle changes. This article will discuss the characteristics of some of the more popular replacement programs to help you determine which may best address your wants and needs. All the diets mentioned in this article provide at least some of your food for you. All of the foods on these diets are low in calories and carbs and high in protein.
The Best Diet Plan If You Want Lots Of One On One Support: Most people cite Jenny Craig as the diet plan which offers the most face to face education and support. This program encourages you to meet with a counselor once per week at one of their weight loss clinics. Although the program is among the most expensive of all of the diets I’ll mention, (since it requires membership fees on top of food costs), most feel this extra money is well spent since it’s providing accountability and support with a person qualified to provide it. Both Nutrisystem and Medifast offer online support, but Jenny is among the few that allows for regular face to face contact.
The Best Weight Loss System If You Like Lots Of Choices And Don’t Mind Food Preparation: Of all of the diets I will discuss in this article, Nutrisystem allows for the most food choices. That’s because there are over 130 food choices in the plan and you’re allowed and encouraged to add your own healthful additions (salads, fruit, yogurt, etc.) to your meals. So if you like to cook or insist on variety, Nutrisystem allows for the best of both worlds, providing most of your food through “safe” prepackaged options, but allowing you to prepare additional side items as long as they are healthful, low calorie, and are allowed on the diet. This sort of leeway can be dangerous, though, for dieters like me who don’t make good decisions when given too much freedom.
The Best Diet If You Value Convenience And Eating Frequently: When most people think of medifast, they think of the plan’s shakes. Contrary to popular belief, medifast is not a liquid or shake only diet. There are over 70 choices, with foods like eggs, oatmeal, pudding, soup, stew, chili, cappuccino, hot chocolate, and protein bars, to name only a few. You eat six times per day on this plan, so you eat many small meals frequently throughout the day. I find this helps with hunger and cravings. Most times, you’ll only eat what the company has provided. You only prepare your own food once per day through your main, larger “lean and green” meal. Granted, this gives you less choices, but it also provides much more convenience and less of a chance to make bad decisions and “fall off the wagon.” For me personally, I need to have the tough decisions made for me. I’m more than willing to trade choices for convenience and results.
