Perhaps if we starve ourselves of carbohydrates, which are an essential macro nutrient, we can trick our bodies into burning some fat when we first go on these diets. That’s great! The problem is that our bodies also need these carbohydrates for energy. That’s no big deal … as long as we don’t have jobs, kids, or a home to maintain. Another problem is that when we finally start eating carbohydrates again, which we will be starved for, our bodies kick into high gear and store those new calories as fat. Low Fat Diets Can Be Dangerous
We all know that if we eat nothing but calorie-dense foods, such as pizza, burgers, cakes and cookies, our health will deteriorate quickly.
